Privacy Policy

LifeCue is designed to help you manage reminders and related information directly on your iPhone. LifeCue does not operate its own backend or cloud service for storing your LifeCue data.

1. Information Stored by LifeCue

LifeCue stores information locally on your device to provide its reminder and organization features. Depending on how you use the app, this includes:

• Reminder titles, dates, times, time zones, notes, and status
• Recurring reminder rules and reminder timestamps
• People names and optional relationship information
• People icons, colors, and archived status
• Context names, optional associated people, icons, colors, and archived status
• Reminder associations with People and Contexts
• Application settings and backup-reminder preferences

2. Photos and Image Information

LifeCue can let you take a photo or select an image for information extraction. The app does not upload these images to a LifeCue server.

Image text recognition uses Apple's Vision framework on the device. Extracted information is treated as a draft until you confirm it. LifeCue does not store image files as part of its reminder, People, or Context records.

3. Calendar Access

LifeCue can request calendar access to read upcoming calendar information when you choose to use calendar-related functionality. Calendar information is fetched for display and organization.

LifeCue does not create or modify calendar events.

4. Notifications

LifeCue uses Apple's notification system to schedule local reminder notifications. Notifications are generated by the device for reminders you create. LifeCue does not operate a remote notification server for your reminders.

5. Backup and Restore

When you choose Export Backup, LifeCue creates a .lifecuebackup file containing your People, Contexts, and reminders.

The backup file is a readable JSON-based file and is not encrypted by LifeCue. You are responsible for protecting an exported backup file and choosing an appropriate storage location.

When you choose to restore a backup, LifeCue imports the selected backup file and replaces the corresponding local LifeCue data.

LifeCue does not upload your backup to a LifeCue-operated server. If you choose to store or share a backup using iCloud Drive, Google Drive, AirDrop, email, messaging, or another destination available through iOS, that destination is governed by the provider's own privacy practices.

6. Sharing and Export

LifeCue can use Apple's system sharing interface when you choose to share information. LifeCue does not control the third-party service or destination you select from the iOS share sheet.

7. Information Sent to LifeCue Servers

LifeCue does not operate a backend service for receiving or storing your reminders, People, Contexts, or images. The app contains no LifeCue-operated network service for this purpose.

8. Third-Party Services and Tracking

LifeCue does not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or third-party crash-reporting SDKs.

LifeCue uses Apple system frameworks and services required for features such as local data persistence, image text recognition, calendar access, notifications, photo selection, and file sharing.

9. Permissions

• Camera: to capture photos within LifeCue.
• Calendar: to read calendar information for calendar-related functionality.
• Notifications: to deliver reminder notifications.
• Photos: LifeCue uses Apple's PhotosPicker for selecting images; it does not require broad photo-library access.

You can manage available permissions through iOS Settings.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

LifeCue keeps its locally stored data while it is needed for the features you use. You can delete reminders and manage People and Contexts from within the app.

Exported backup files are separate files under your control. Deleting a backup file from its storage location does not automatically change the local data currently stored in LifeCue.

Removing the LifeCue app from an iPhone normally removes its local app data according to standard iOS behavior. If you use iOS device backup, Apple may include app data in that device backup according to your device backup settings and Apple's services.

11. Security

LifeCue uses Apple's platform storage and security mechanisms for local application data. Exported LifeCue backup files are readable JSON files and do not have additional app-level encryption.

You should protect exported backup files and only share them with destinations and people you trust.

12. Children's Privacy

LifeCue does not require an account and does not operate a service for collecting children's personal information. The app stores its data locally and does not provide an online user-account system.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when LifeCue's features or privacy practices change. The effective date at the top of this page indicates the current version.

Need help with LifeCue? LifeCue is designed to provide a simple way to create, organize, schedule, and complete reminders.

How to Create a Reminder

1. Tap the + button on the LifeCue home screen.
2. Choose Add Reminder.
3. Enter a reminder title.
4. Choose the date and, when needed, a reminder time.
5. Select a repeat schedule such as once, daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly.
6. Optionally associate the reminder with a Person or Context.
7. Add an optional note and create the reminder.

Recurring Reminders

LifeCue supports one-time, daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reminder schedules. Recurring reminders can also be limited to a defined date range when that option is enabled.

Managing a Reminder

Open a reminder to view its details. Depending on its state, you can snooze it, mark it complete, edit it, or delete it.

Backup and Restore

1. Open More.
2. Choose Backup & Restore.
3. Select Export Backup to create a LifeCue backup file.
4. Store the file in a location you trust.
5. Use Import Backup when you need to restore data.

Some LifeCue features require access to the corresponding iOS system capability, such as Camera, Calendar, or Notifications.
