Privacy Policy & Support
1. Overview
GPU FieldDiag (“the App”) is an offline reference for GPU field engineers on iPhone and iPad. The phone guides the work. Commands run only on the console your organization already approves.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use the App for advertising or tracking. The App has no account and no backend.
2. Information the App uses
The App may use the following on-device capabilities:
- Camera — only to read a barcode or QR code. Frames are not stored or uploaded. If the camera is unavailable, you can type the code.
- Share sheet — when you tap Share, iOS sends only the text you chose (a code, command, or decision path) to an app you pick, such as Messages or Mail.
- On-device storage — onboarding state, favorites, checklist ticks, and, only if you turn it on, up to 20 recent codes.
The App does not ask for server passwords, SSH keys, or BMC credentials. It does not scan networks, log in to servers, or upload logs.
3. Data we collect
We do not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, contact information, or diagnostic logs. The bundled troubleshooting guides, commands, glossary, checklists, and XID reference are part of the App. They are not sent anywhere.
Remembering scanned codes is off by default. When you turn it on, those codes stay in this App on this device. Turning the setting off, tapping Delete All, or deleting the App removes them. They are not uploaded.
Field checklist ticks are stored only on the device. The checklist does not ask for server output or customer details. Clear them in the App, or delete the App to remove them.
4. How we use information
- To show a code you scanned or typed, and to copy or share it when you ask.
- To remember favorites, checklist ticks, and, if you opt in, a short list of recent codes.
- To show offline troubleshooting steps, server guides, and command reference text.
5. Sharing
We do not share personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising. If you use the iOS share sheet, the destination app receives only the text you chose to share, under that app’s own terms. We may disclose information only if required by law.
6. Data retention
There is no server-side copy of your codes, favorites, or checklist ticks, because the App does not operate a server for that data. Local favorites, checklist ticks, and optional recent codes remain on the device until you delete them or remove the App.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is a professional field reference and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your choices
- You can deny Camera permission in Settings. Manual code entry still works.
- You can leave “Remember scanned codes on this device” off, or delete the list at any time.
- You can clear checklist ticks and remove favorites inside the App.
- You can delete the App to remove its local data from that device.
9. Purchases
Version 1.0 does not include an account or a purchase screen. If a paid tier is added later, Apple will process payment through the App Store. The App will not receive your full payment card details. Safety information will remain available without a purchase.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
